I came upon this lady when I was wandering down a random alley in Kamari. She was sitting outside a hotel, and I was on a roll with asking strangers to take their pictures, so I complimented her earrings and said that I'd like to take her picture because of them. She light up, got kinda nervous, and said "here let me stand up" and so the first pictures we took were outside, and she had ripped off her glasses so I could take the picture. After a couple shots outside she looked at the picture and said that she liked it and wanted me to send it to her over facebook. We went into the lobby and she had me add her as a friend, then I asked her if she wanted more pictures, and she said yes. This time she took her glasses off and let her hair down and this picture is the result. Because we moved inside I had less light to work with so I turned up my ISO to 400 and my shutter speed all the way down to 1/15. Because my shutter speed was so low I braced my elbows on the counter and snapped the shot. I actually took out a little of the saturation because her skin and the wall behind her looked very orange. I think I like this better because it tones down the color, yet her eyes still sparkle and her earrings still pop.
SS: 1/15
A: 5
ISO: 400

ReplyDeleteYou worked it for this portrait, Bri-Bri! I'm proud of you :) I have a feeling that when you want something, you have no qualms about getting down to business to get it done. So cool that she asked to be a FB friend!!
